About Us

WAG is an international political lobby and advocacy force based in New York City. Our purpose is to expose the brutal abuse and blatant neglect of all animals – companion, farmed, captive, and wild – especially in areas that may lie beyond the interest and curiosity of well funded international animal welfare societies and the major media.

Our mission is to educate the world community, to urge people to actively “rise up”, protest and lobby governments, corporations and citizens for reform. We strive to challenge and cripple the efforts of those governments and individual criminals who pollute our society by their inhumanity and their collective violation of the rights of every creature with whom we share this planet. We will use every legal device and contrivance available to lobby to elevate the status of all animals in every society across the globe. It is our hope to empower each individual’s conception of what he or she can do to revolutionize and transform a world gone slightly mad.

One individual can harness the colossal energy available in the universe to produce the impossible. Desire, perseverance and prayer are the keys that open the gates to change and reform.

Years of global travel and experience have taught us that it is possible to protest and lobby for “transformation” in every realm of life, to modulate human thinking and to recapture and preserve the human animals misplaced sense of compassion. We have experienced encouraging outcomes tending to the nearly impossible.

Our zeal for the advancement of animal rights is fierce; our passion and enthusiasm inspired and our patience unlimited. We are motivated by forces greater than we can comprehend and that motivation is always being refined. Our faith is strong and we believe in miracles. Your support of our work and protection of vulnerable creatures everywhere is crucial.

Encourage family, friends and colleagues to join the united voice and action of compassionate people. We ask that you stand by our side in any way that you are able. We need to hear your collective voices, read your words, touch your tears and feel your power.

Together we can enlighten the social majority and send strong, clear messages to the Greek State, China, Korea and the myriad of other nations, including our own, that no civilized nation or human being condones animal cruelty or neglect.

Together we will be heard and one day animal activists from all over America will stand united and address the Congress of the United States and legally empower “ANIMAL RIGHTS”. Without animal rights, advocacy is a hard fought battle.

Move beyond the status quo. Think outside the box in ways that the world of convention doesn’t always approve. We must collectively rise up to the challenge of our humane struggle.

“Rise Up” on behalf of those who suffer silently and alone; unite and join us in making miracles happen for the animals of our world.

We are here but for a “Moment In Time”. Please help us make that “Moment In Time” endure in triumph

I think what you are doing is great – and your mission is so well-stated!

We are the only no-kill animal shelter in Jamaica (one of only two facilities on the island). Our survival has been threatened not only by lack of funds but by the four hurricanes that have hit us in less than three years (the last one being the category 5 Hurricane Dean on August 19th). But, despite the immense difficulties we have faced, we have not only survived, we have accomplished much as well. As soon as we re-stabilize we plan to lobby the Jamaican government (we have already started on hotel chains) for serious reform of the cruelty to animal laws. We are also planning a humane education program in the island’s primary schools.

Signs for improvement next year are good. In January we will receive a decent amount of money as one of the two lcharities listed to benefit from an international golf tournament. Two other fundraising events are scheduled for February and March and we also have an online auction planned (items presently being collected). Our need for help at the moment however is serious and we write to ask that you pass the word along to any boards or lists that you think might help us get through this temporary crisis.

More about our animal shelter can be foundon our website. And, my phone number is 1-876-383-8338 if anyone would like to call.

Thanks for caring so much about the world’s forgotten animals.

Maureen, thank you for your kind words. I am leaving for the Gulf Coast for about 12 days and will call you upon my return. I have traveled throughout the Caribbean many times and it is a living and breathing nightmare.

I was wondering if the photo of the woman serving dog meat in Korea is under copyright. I was hoping to post it on my blog.
